Identify the winner
If you’re looking to identify the winner it’s as well to do more than just study the form.
THE FORM will tell you who beat whom over what course and what distance carrying more or less than today. This is important but on it’s own not that useful.
You need to inform yourself on FOUR key areas:
- Being in form – this applies to the horse, jockey and trainer.
- Horses for courses – does your horse, trainer and jockey like the course. Are there any draw advantages or does the course favour your horse’s style of running ie front runner.
- Distance preferences
- Going preferences
Add the above to your study of the form and you’ll have a much better chance to identify the winner.

As with courses some trainers and even jockeys have more winners over certain distances.
