FREE Flat racing tips 8th June 2018 at Carlisle, Brighton, Wolves, Goodwood & Haydock

There are 3 meetings this afternoon at Carlisle, Brighton and Wolverhampton with 2 meetings tonight at Goodwood and Haydock Park. Here are the tips for the day meetings. Evening meetings will be published by 2pm.

WORLD WAR – 15.30

I like the trainer Archie Watson and the jockey Danny Tudhope. He has the profile to do well having been a winner in Ireland and then in two runs since he has run over significantly further against hot competition. Last time in a hot handicap at York over 2m1/2f he did well to be there or there abouts at the 2f pole but then faded back into 8th. The drop back to 1m6f should suite therefore and this is a drop in class compared to York. The obvious danger is Kensington Star, current favourite, who won this race last year off the same mark.

This isn’t a great race and there are some pretty poor horses running who have never won. Arcane Dancer has won and at Cl5 level off marks up to 61 so off 52 today he looks very interesting. Paul Mulrennan, an above average jockey, takes the ride today for a stable that appears to be coming into some kind of form. On Hamilton running the selection should have the beating of the current favourite Palindrome but one small worry with Arcane Dancer is that he has all his best form at Thirsk (with one placing at Hamilton & Catterick) however I think Carlisle should suite his running style and he should get the 1m1f. Currently 10/1 he is worth a punt and I feel will provide a return as a place bet at 3/1 on Betfair exchange.

KALAGIA – 14.10

Respectable third in a better race at Haydock last time out (where the 6th has come out and won since), this SdS/Mark Johnston combo should go well and is the pick of a fair group. Won’t be easy but in the Champ (who has a 22% strike rate at Brighton) I trust!!

Won’t surprise that I will go for SdS again. Last run was The Lacemakers career best but he still appears to be on a good mark having only gone up 4lbs. Now’s the time to get a couple of wins into him and I take him to beat Bernardo O’Reilly who is out under a penalty after a good win at Lingfield.

Wolverhampton 5f races are about getting to the front (early speed) and then staying there. Glamorous Rocket has the early speed to get to the front and with David Probert’s help can stay there. Teepee Time has won over C&D and would be most feared.

Won here over 7f very cosily by a head looking like he could have won by further. He beat Rasima that day who has gone on to win a Cl3 at Nottingham of 77 and the third has won a Cl5 here over C&D by 41/2l. So the form looks more than solid. Gilded Hour made a meal of winning a weak affair at Chepstow (second horse was 10/10 and fourth horse 12/17 next time out). A bigger danger might be Dutch Monarch who was down the field in a good race won by Emblazoned, who went on to run third in a Group 2, followed by a good second at Chelmsford (not sure of the quality of that race).

    World War – LAST
Really didn’t like it out there. Flattered about 2f out but ultimately sulked and had his ears back. Maybe better on softer ground? I will be watching next time out to see if there is any potential still there.

    Arcane Dancer – FOURTH
Front ran and looked to be going well until the 1f pole where he faded and lost third late on. Perfectly good run and beaten by a horse that on past form he should have beaten so maybe this will signal a return to form?

    Kalagia – THIRD
Ran a perfectly good race and was positioned by SdS to win if good enough. Just not good enough and the winner looks well handicapped and so I will be following that one to win again NTO.

    The Lacemaker – FOURTH
Almost a replay of the Kalagia race however I hate the way SdS gives up once he knows his horse is beat. Place beters take note as I think Lacemaker could have got third if ridden out and at 9/2 some people will have lost their money as a result. Tan looks a good sort and will go into my ATR tracker.

    Glamorous Rocket – WINNER
Nice to see things go exactly as predicted. Jumped out like a rocket and then Probert’s strong finish carried her over the line. I even gave you TEEPEE TIME as the second which gave a CSF of £50.65p!!

Dance on the Day – FOURTH
Won the race for the lead from the wide draw and looked competitive at 1f but like most races over 6f it is incredibly difficult to front run and win. In fact 1m at Wolverhampton is the most difficult course and distance of all the al weather tracks to win from the front.
