NOTTINGHAM:

PENNY DREADFUL – 18.20

Won this race last year with some ease under an apprentice – it was point and shoot. 7lbs higher in this race he now has the assistance of Silvestre De Sousa (his booking gives some confidence to his chances) and if the same tactics are invoked – jump out, take an easy lead and then stay there – SdS is your man. There are others who have speed but they are likely to be scrimmaging for a prominent position while Penny Dreadful cracks on. Currently a best price of 7/1 he absolutely qualifies for a back to lay bet. If he doesn’t get the lead then probably cash out at a neutral position as his chance of winning will be a lot lower than if he can get a soft lead. The worry regarding a win bet or even a place is the fact that he has had a 111 day break since his last race and may just need the race.

WINDSOR:

BIOTIC – 18.00

I am not at all confident in this selection but among some not very good horses and some very inexperienced apprentices we have Biotic from the Rod Millman yard. Rod is having a good spell at the moment and Biotic has had a first run back 28 days ago at this course and so should strip fitter this time. If so then he is 15lbs lower than when going close in a similar race at this course last year. Theodore Ladd takes the ride and is one of the up and coming apprentices who will give the selection a decent ride. You can still get 5/1 on Biotic and he’s worth at least a strong place bet.

    REVIEW OF TIPS:
    Penny Dreadful – FIFTH
Did get out in front and made it to about the furlong pole in the lead. Traded at 4.1 on the exchanges which was sufficient to get the back to lay in at double the money and certainly if you take the 50% on your money option. Hope you followed our advice as the back to lay represented a winning strategy even though the horse finished 5th.
    Biotic – FOURTH
Well what can I say. Great big lump of a horse comes with a smooth run and looks all over the winner at the 3f pole – trading @1.36 to win and 1.06 for a place and yet he lurched to the left, tied up and lost third by a short head on the post.
