Whether you are a trainer, jockey or horse it always pays to follow those in-form. Trainers for instance might be out of form because of a cough going through the yard or the fact that they have had more rain and can’t get out on the gallops or some other reason. Jockeys are a bit the same. If you haven’t had a winner for some time then you might loose confidence and it becomes a bogey for you. Similarly horses need to gain confidence and get used to winning. Some horses will even sulk if they don’t get their head in front!!
In racing circles trainers and jockeys can end up on the cold list or the hot list depending on their current form (you can find these lists in the Racing Post on the Stats pages).
