Marmelo – advised at 7/4
Lashabeeh – 10/3
Panko – advised at 5/4
The one bet that lost was a reverse forecast stall 1&2 in the 5f 15.45 race at Chester where they finished 2nd & 3rd to an enterprising ride by Nicola Currie
I loved Pacify as a bet because you had so many options to make money:
- PLACE bet – this was the main recommendation and if followed made you triple your money
- WIN bet – well came very close, within a neck, but at 7/1 advised probably we should have gone harder on a BACK to LAY option as in 3. below
- Back to Lay – with Pacify coming in to 9/2 before the off we could have taken decent profit before the race had even started. Then in running he traded as low as 1.16 so we would definitely have been able to get the double money option which only needed him to trade down to 4.0 on Betfair Exchange
I normally advise back to lays when I see a front runner in a race where they are likely to be able to get the lead and on a course and distance where front running is an advantage. Here though Pacify was always going to be held up but a deciding factor in whether he was good for a back to lay prospect was the jockey. Would Serena Brotherton be able to get Pacify up there and competitive inside the last two furlongs – the answer was absolutely.
